I'm getting this... one day.
Amen brother.. Arguably my favorite car under $300,000 right now. I've never been so enamored with an 'inexpensive' car. (Note, I use inexpensive loosely here).

This probably means the screens are the same, or maybe suppliers are keeping their mouths shut for once

Besides worrying about Manufacturers and telco vendors, people need to always be aware that when they have a device such as an iPhone, iPad, and Android device, that they are carrying around a pocket, or highly portable computer.
Security concerns you would have with data on your laptop should be carried over to those devices, and even, be paid closer attention to. You are carrying around a device that is most always internet connected, has cameras, has GPS, has Microphones, and motion sensors.
I don't consider my iPhone a spy device, but, I keep all of those things in mind when I am running around with it ;) .

You dont seem to know how much pull Samsung has in the components arena do you?
They are
#1 in RAM Memory
#2 in semiconductor LSI
#1 in flat panel display
#1 in rechargeable battery
#2 in mobile phones over all
#1 in NAND flash memory
$8 billion to a company with revenue generation in excess of $140 billion is chunp change. That is around 4% of total revenue.
Never sue your supplier when your supplier can turn around and gobble up other suppliers and increase the price for all OEM makers, but giving itself the cost effective goods, because it also itself is an OEM maker.
Unlike Apple, who is just a customer, Samsung is BOTH a customer AND a supplier at the same time. Either way, they win.
Quite recently, Samsung attempted to take over Sandisk, the NAND flash memory company. It wasnt successful due to some differences in price offers. That alone tells you that Samsung is willing to strangle hold the market even more than it already has. NAND flash market alone, Samsung has over 30 % of the market all to itself. For RAM memory, it close to 40%.
Apple is barking up the wrong tree.
As I said earlier, Samsung are contracted to supply parts, so Apple can do anything they want.
And if Samsung stop providing parts, then they simply open the way for other fabs to take up the slack. And don't bet your bottom dollar that there are companies out there who want Apple's $$.
If Samsung allows it's competition to gear up (eg build a few extra fabs), then the value of their parts will go down as the market gets opened up.
Samsung need Apple more than Apple need Samsung.
====
Ok, for the dim, here is the problem -
Making parts is one thing, we can all make parts, we can all go into our garage and make a random widget. We can make hundreds of those widgets.
But - here is the kicker -
We need someone to buy those widgets.
If no one buys the widgets, we can't make the widgets, and in this scenario Apple sell the widget to the end user. The game is with Apple, not the parts supplier.

meh, my first HD was 52MB that .052GB or .000052TB or .000000052PB :D
Mine was 10MB ... and people told me I was wasting money since a second floppy drive (5 1/4) would be more than enough (one to boot the OS, one for the data).

It is seeming more and more likely that enhanced interrogation techniques (a.k.a. torture), provided information that allowed the U.S. to kill O.B.L.....
edit;
I doubt we'll ever know the real facts as it's already turned political. It seems that supporters of torture are going to claim it worked and opponents will say the opposite
Before a day had passed, the torture debate had flared. The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York, told Fox News that the success of the hunt for Bin Laden was due to waterboarding. The next morning, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California and chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said just as flatly that “none of it came as a result of harsh interrogation practices.” NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/04/us/politics/04torture.html)
for what it's worth, the NY Times report contradicts the idea that torture provided the vitally useful information

Am I going to have .mac, .me and .icloud email addresses now?
Hehe.. maybe?
I stuck with the dotmac addresses when the service became MobileMe, but I think I can use both.
My MobileME renews in a few weeks. I hope I don't get nailed twice, once for the renewal and again for the upgrade.

I tried the Toy Camera effect for this photo, unfortunately it showed up some water marks on my 50mm lens at the time of taking the photo. I retouched them, but it means I think some photos from August/September have these blemishes...

Good thing the screensaver password dialog is the login window itself (even the same exact process) in Lion then, huh?
Good only if it does not carry over the hang bug from old code base ;)

Really because I was told by someone at William sonoma today to skip it ($80) and buy their $60 cuisinart. He said it doesn't stay cold long enough to firm up.
Typical salesman crap. Just have to keep it in the freezer for 15 hours and churn the ice cream for 20-25 minutes and it will be ready. If not, it will take a few more minutes( often happens when I make Irish Cream ice cream as the alcohol lowers the freezing temp of the ice cream). But, it stays frozen plenty long enough for the ice cream to firm up.
