I must say, that's a good idea. Can't wait to see the outcome of this project!

Ummm...Is this a misdirected post from 1986 via the April Fools page?

Very cool! Now just point her in the direction of the iTunes music service and tell her to buy you some tunes for your help!

The impact is overpriced. If you want an otterbox get a commuter.
If you want a silicone case there are cheaper and similarly designed cases from other manufacturers. Check out silicone cases from Incipio, Switcheasy and Belkin.

The earliest OS you can run on the 1400 series is system 7.6. The ideal OS to run on the 1400 series is System 8.1 -- I believe you can run System 8 on 8MB of RAM but this is like the bare minimum, I know the minimally configured 1400 series came with 8MB of RAM, right?

Looking for an Illustrator plugin (CS5 compatible) that's similar to HotDoors Cad Tools.
Actually I'm only interested in one that's capable of "measuring" an object and places the dimensions next to each measured side/segment/radius, etc. I really don't care for all the other wonderful features of Cad Tools at the time.
I have to do a lot of these for some die cut specs and it's very time consuming to do it manually (draw the arrows, etc.)...and Cad Tools update for CS5 is very expensive.
Any suggestions.
TIA

I hope they plan this better than the Jay-Z concert. The outfield looked horrible afterwards.
Via Google maps which was taken soon after that concert.
Or was it the boxing match? Either way......

Sure,
About 3 weeks ago, her battery life went from about 1hr and 45 min to a max of 20 minutes. Now, I have had batteries doe on me before, but this was an overnight thing, not gradual at all. I want to try and reset the PMU to see if I can get more battery life out of it, but the PMU does not seem to reset.
Regards,
Gus

I just received my iPad 2 and will be making a 2-week trip in May to an area with no TV - so I hope to copy some of my purchased DVD movies to SD cards to watch them on the iPad. I have the camera connection kit, so SD connection to iPad is no problem.
I've read several threads mentioning Handbrake and VLC, but have no idea what to do. Can someone please give me a step by step procedure on how to successfully copy these DVDs or refer me to a site which has the detailed instructions?
Info is greatly appreciated as this is a major reason I bought the new iPad now.
Thanks!

From a former employee (I know nobody ever believes that but OH WELL :D)...
You can have your products serviced through any genius bar. If your products require significant repairs and are very new (say less than a month old) then it is likely the products will be simply swapped out there and then for you. This is at the manager's discretion but it was a common occurrence.
However, you cannot simply return the product to the store for an exchange or refund if you have just changed your mind etc, it has to be sent back to the online store. At least this was the case in the UK.
They can swap defective products because it will go through as a genius bar service, and not through the tills as a return (very simple way of explaining it, not really any need for detail...)

First thing to try is to delete ~/Library/com.apple.Dock.plist (~ denotes your user folder, in case you're not familiar with the notation), and then restart. That will recreate that file with the default contents. If that doesn't work, you'll have to do a reinstall probably, unless you saved the original Dock.app files (which is always recommended, even when using CandyBar or similar apps). If you use Time Machine, then you can get it from there, assuming you didn't intentionally exclude System Files.

Ok time for a really noob question, what is folding?
Folding@Home (http://folding.stanford.edu/)
All the Intel clients spawn 4 instances, regardless of how many CPUs you have, as far as I know anyway. This may be a change that they made to optimize it for the Intel machines.

I'll be driving there in my xterra to pick up the iphone 4:cool:
Cool I'll be there as early as possible in my white Civic. Only problem is avoiding mall security, as they don't want anyone on the property before 6am.

With all respect...if you are having to ask what to do with a DMG, do you really think you should be installing OSX server?

Will there be any more new product announcements at Macworld? I did not know if they do all the product announcements on the 1st day or what. I'm really hoping for a true video iPod. Just wondering if there's a chance of new product announcements for the rest of the week! Thanks

Hi all
I have a 500gig Imac & wondered is it easy to increase the size of my hard-drive?
I've just got appleTV & am adding all my DVD's which when reduced down are about 1gig each
Thanks
+1. I'd recommend getting an external, as well. Here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Elements-External-Desktop/dp/B003IPC21Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304000806&sr=8-1) is a link to one of the externals that I have. I even looked it up on UK Amazon for you ;)
If you're really wanting internal, I have a couple of These (http://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Caviar-Black-WD2002FAEX-internal/dp/B004CSIG1G/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1304000882&sr=1-3) in a NAS and they work really well. I wouldn't recommend changing it yourself; you should be able to find a local authorized repair shop that will do it for a nominal fee.
And if you can afford both, you can get a bigger internal drive and an external USB drive. This will let you use Time Machine to have a backup in case one of the drives fails.

Startup company Ntractive (http://www.ntractive.com/) gave attendees of Macworld San Francisco a glimpse at its upcoming product Elements SBM.
Elements SBM tackles an old problem (small business management) in a new and rather innovative way: by creating a hybrid desktop/web application. The result promises to be a solution that gives users the accessibility of web applications with the power, look, and feel of a desktop application. Features planed for 1.0 (http://www.ntractive.com/site/features/) will include an administrative interface, home screen, calendar, email, in/out, contacts, notes, sales, service, marketing, developer, projects, internet, images, and document modules.
The first installment of Elements SBM will be for Mac OS X, and will feature integration with iChat, Address Book, iPhoto, the Dock, and will support Drag and Drop, amongst others. However, because the application is built utilizing WebKit, versions for the iPhone and Windows are also in the pipeline.
Ntractive says that it already has over 550 companies signed up for a beta coming this Spring.

THIS. cross check to isolate the issue to the spaker or amp. it could be that u badly damaged the amp section for that particular speaker out on your receiver. This is rather unusual because most modern receivers have a protection mode that limits wattage in order stop overdriving. but such safeguards can only do so much; if it was being driven for hours, it could have easily been damaged.
The bass part of the speaker works fine, but the little box above it is "broken". I have unscrewed it and it looks like I can take it out and replace it, I will post a picture later today.

Ebay is the best place. Be sure you get only a mac retail box version. The Radeon 7000 or 9200 are your best bets.

We have numerous iPods in our house... One of them is a 160GB Classic. I won't sync all songs, it makes itunes run VERY slow and it can't be manually reset from the iPod. When I try to reset it it still shows the couple hundred songs that did sync (out of 5000). When I leave it alone long enough itunes will see the iPod and I can reset it in itunes. But it still won't sync all the music. I have it sent to manually manage my songs. I was trying to treat this iPod the same way I sync my 120GB Classic (which works and syncs fine). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I am not sure I understand. So you have to try to copy a file (Mac --> PC) to get access denied and that makes it possible for (PC --> Mac) to work when it didn't work before you got the access denied message. Also connecting works (Mac --> PC) fine without having to do anything elaborate.
Connecting (Mac --> PC) works for viewing files only? My setup worked fine when I made sure I was on the same wireless network, and opened up a port on the PC firewall, and started up Windows Sharing on the Mac side.
Also just a word of warning. People freak out when they see MAC or Apple (When refering to a Mac) instead of Mac. It might even be confusing for some networking folks since MAC means something different.
You have it mostly right, I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. Connecting Mac to PC works when I want to copy a file from the PC to the Mac, but if I try to do it the other way around it won't ever work. The only way that I can copy a file to my PC is to log onto my Mac as a network drive from the PC. But it will only allow me to connect as a network drive after I went through the whole access denied thing trying to copy a file to the PC from a Mac. And thanks for the tip on Mac terminology, I just became a convert.
