Before Lee's undies self-contort into yet another sheepshank, why don't we go to the sources rather than a secondhand blog?
The NYT covered the story (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/09/us/09assault.html?_r=1) (sorry, couldn't find the original).
The part of the article relevant to the topic at hand:
Residents in the neighborhood where the abandoned trailer stands known as the Quarters said the victim had been visiting various friends there for months. They said she dressed older than her age, wearing makeup and fashions more appropriate to a woman in her 20s. She would hang out with teenage boys at a playground, some said.
Where was her mother? What was her mother thinking? said Ms. Harrison, one of a handful of neighbors who would speak on the record. How can you have an 11-year-old child missing down in the Quarters?
Note that this is most likely from where the representative from Florida got her information and was paraphrasing, albeit with poor word choice.
Now then, a follow up from the NYT public editor (http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/11/gang-rape-story-lacked-balance/):
The Times, responding to a wave of complaints, issued a statement Wednesday saying, Nothing in our story was in any way intended to imply that the victim was to blame. Neighbors comments about the girl, which we reported in the story, seemed to reflect concern about what they saw as a lack of supervision that may have left her at risk.
Of course, this begs the question of why a publication as liberal as the NYT would want to break with a generation or more of tradition and even hint at the insinuation that the victim was to blame?
For that, we have to go to the UK's Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1365112/Horrific-gang-rape-18-men-girl-11-Texas-sparks-racial-tension.html)
I guess the Times was stuck between blaming the victim and having another Jena 6 story on their hands.

I have each set going down a column. Right now, I just carefully routed the wires around the back and being held by tape. I'm picking up some wire management stuff from Home Depot so it will look cleaner.
But unless someone looks at the back, you really cannot see the wires.
...and switched to all white. :)
What kind of lights? I am totally doing this.

What interface/app are you using to watch video and from what streaming source?
From what you explain I would guess you are running h.264 streams that may be beyond your Macs capability. My single 1.8 7448 G4 would easily outperform your dual 867 and I can't go above 480p h.264.
For the best video playback experience on your hardware I would restrict it to 480p and lower h.264 and DivX/XviD up to 720p. It's also all about the player you use. On PowerPC chips Quicktime generally uses up to double the CPU vs. VLC or Mplayer.
Give me specifics about codec and apps used and I can help you solve this issue no matter what video card you have.
I was going to dispute you and say old dual 500mhz cube cube play 720p files with the stock Geoforce card but I remembered that was running the multi-thread variant of MPlayer. That might work for you.

I called up CS (to talk about an unauthorized charge) and then the CS rep let me know of the Unlimited M2M plan. Switched it and it was rather painless.
If the website isn't working for you (like me), just call them up and they will do it quickly

I don't get why Americans like bigger cars.
So we could make you feel better about yourselves driving small cars.
More likely: In Europe and Asia, the cities were built before cars, so they have narrower streets. In the US, some big cities were built before cars, but most were built for wagon/car/whatever traffic and since there was so much empty space, they made more room for it.
I know, there is empty space in other countries. Got that. I also know that some people think we should live like sardines, but not having to worry about your neighbor's rowhouse catching on fire and burning yours down, or their filthy habits getting you sick is nice. It's also nice to not hear your neighbor flushing the toilet and/or what show they're watching on TV.
Yes, I understand if you live in a 350 year old building made out of 24" thick plaster/cement/adobe walls you won't hear your neighbor. OTOH, you probably don't have to worry about the ground shaking under you.. well, you might have to worry about the volcano nearby exploding into your house or something but.. that's different right?
Anyway, long story short, small cars fit small streets better.
In the US, small cars aren't a necessity, and since they're cheaper to make than big cars, they tend to be sold for those who want a new car but can't afford a bigger car. Aside from the 50s/50s/70s, I don't think size was really seen as a luxury thing - right now this country is choke full of people ashamed to be considered American that would love to have a tiny, really expensive European car to show how not stereotypical fat american they are XD

Nooooooooo! Bertrand was my favorite SVP, no corporate BS spewing from his mouth, just good old honesty and genuine pride about how great things were and how bad everyone else was :) I will forever miss his accent at the keynotes. I'm guessing they asked him to talk in a keynote about the 'magic' of Lion, so he left in pursuit of science!
Yes, I believe he has a glass eye.
A glass eye with a rose color lens...
Amen to his comical French accent MS Roast's at Apple OS Keynotes... I'll miss too. All the best to your future, Bertrand.

Lets say I have a library of MP3 music in a directory, and I have some external storage (SD card, USB flash drive, whatever...). Is there an App, script etc. that will fill up the storage device with random files from my music library?
The SD card does not show up in iTunes. A Google search didn't turn up anything

Limiting the number of ipods a movie can be played on will do absolutely nothing to curb piracy. It is merely
an errosion of what I consider 'fair use'. Heck, the existing
itunes DRM is too restrictive already - once I buy a movie, I should be able to view it anyway I damn well please, be it on a single ipod, multiple ipods, PSP, laptop, tv, at a friends house, burn to dvd, encode to another format, whatever. The only thing I shouldn't be able to do is re-distribute the movie.
What needs to be done is to figure out how to prevent movie downloads from being re-distribued while preserving 'fair use'. The movie industry needs to hire less lawyers and lobbyist, and hire tech people to figure out better ways to do this. Bittorrent is open source - it amazes me with the source code right in front of them that the industry hasn't figured out how to make files un-torrentable.
Until movie downloads are offered with minimal DRM restrictions and offered in a much higher quality HD format, I'll pass and just buy the DVD.

in the middle of way open area at Union Square Park in NYC had 2 dropped calls. Customer services response? Install app on iphone that lets us know where your call was dropped. Sure let me do your work, and pay for that privalage.
And how do you expect them to find out what is going on? Magic? All they wanted you to do was install an app that would let them run a diagnosis. Are they supposed to send some one over to you to take your phone and install it for you?
You do realize that that would increase the time it would take them to find the problem by, a helluva lot vs. the few seconds it would take you to install that app. And it would be wasting a lot of gas and pay time to send that person out for something you could do in a few seconds.
How lazy can you be to complain that they dare want you to do a few seconds of work so they can help you?
I've never come across a company that will baby the customer that much. Apple still insists I drive my computer over to their store for them to look at. When I was calling in about a broken monitor, I had to *gasp*, look for the serial number on my computer for Gateway. I guess you'd expect them to send some one over to do that for me?

I've been following this thread while I anxiously await the new webmail too, and this morning I saw something in Future Shop's flyer that I figured the rest of the (Canadian) dotmac community would be interested in: it's on sale until the 26th for only $69.99 (Cdn). I just bought my renewal code off of eBay for $70ish US, and this is even cheaper than that! If any of you have a renewal coming up, this is a pretty incredible deal.
