Finally, some statistics that are actually presented clearly.
It's always bugged me when groups compare iPhone to "Android devices" because there's only one brand of iPhone when there's tons of various Android phones. Didn't seem fair to just chop off the rest of iOS.
Glad this study was done by a major group. Maybe this'll shut up some of the pro-Android, anti-Apple crowd.
Not only has Apple’s mobile platform share been artificially cut down by separating out the iPhone alone, the other mobile device makers have had their share artificially increased, by lumping them all together! But since those devices vary in size, version and capabilities so much, they do NOT add up to a single platform in the way iOS does. Not for developers, not for device makers, and not for users.
Exactly.

They have firewire 800, and you can buy 400 to 800 cables, or even adapters.

And you're only argument is "it's wrong".
Really? Have you read the thread? This is far from the only argument given to get rid of the death penalty.

I've just started checking out the Lynda.com training videos for Xcode 4 / ObjC
They are very well done, and start pretty entry level. I haven't seen anything specific to the iPhone, but looks like a good setup for someone getting into Xcode4 and ObjC.
I'll check later to see if they have something specific to iPhone dev.
Well worth looking into.

I just went to the Denver Automotive show and crapped my pants lol
I miss going to good auto shows. I went to college in Phoenix, and they have a pretty good car show every year. Here in Omaha, we get just the basics for new cars, with a few random concept cars sprinkled in here and there. Nothing great, really, and that sucks. I'd love to get over to Geneva or Frankfurt to see one of those huge shows one of these years.

Sorry to dig this up, but I just found this thread. Most everything has already been covered, but I just thought that I would humbly submit a link to a piece I wrote on this same topic. Here's *my* list of ten free apps for OS X.

Wasn't this supposed to have push notifications?
Strangely enough you can get push from the people you follow but not @'s and direct messages.
ok I bought T2 and can't find how to see conversational views. Simplytweet is very ease to see conversational views. How do I access this in tweetie 2?
I do like the look
Go to tweet and click "in reply to" button.

I can imagine that Apple provides detailed specs to the manufacturers of the glass and that there is a bidding process involved. That means that any deviation from the provided specs after production will have to be corrected at the cost and time of the manufacturer, not Apple.
If this is actually the case, than the manufacturer can even be held accountable for the loss in sales.
More likely it was Apple's fault for specifying either a nearly unachievable spec or for giving a bad material specification.

And that concerns you how??
Wow.
Double wow, without a disclaimer from you.
I do believe your time here would be better spent somewhere else.
Please.
You don't care if Europe collapses? Not even a teensy bit that our allies are going to fail?
Not my words, hence the quotes

so this is only unlimited "to" any mobile, what about "From"
Hope they do this on verizon as well. Is it unlimited calling TO and FROM cell phones?
I'm suspicious of the TO any mobile. Does it differentiate incoming from outgoing?
From the press release (http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=19039&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=31589):
**Mobile to Any Mobile Calling - Available only with select Nation and FamilyTalk plans. Direct calls to & direct calls received from US mobile numbers only. Rollover Minutes: Unused Anytime Mins expire after the 12th billing period. Night & Weekend & Mobile to Mobile mins do not roll over.

Not to mention any names, but I don't see any of you becoming the most hated (or, perhaps, least liked) members. I think those spots are already pretty secure.
I kept working to be the meanest member but no one ever voted for me for that. :( ;)
I haven't seen any ruffled feathers yet, except maybe on the free merchandise spammers.

I am saying that the present UK tariff of 16 years minimum provides adequate protection for the public, and is not an attractive alternative to liberty.
I agree, as I said a family member works for the Probation Service and I am studying law now and it has completely changed my perspective of crime/criminals.
It is such a shame that the media/tabloids still thinks all criminals are inherently evil and spreads rubbish and incorrect headlines like "Europe says rapists must have vote" (prisoners votes recently).
Anyway, life sentance guidlines were reviewed in 2003 and they are currently as follows-
Whole life - two or more people killed and-
a substantial degree of premeditation or planning,
the abduction of the victim, or
sexual or sadistic conduct,
the murder of a child if involving the abduction of the child or sexual or sadistic motivation,
a murder done for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause, or
a murder by an offender previously convicted of murder
30 year minimum - where the offence involves-
the murder of a police officer or prison officer in the course of his duty,
a murder involving the use of a firearm or explosive,
a murder done for gain (in furtherance of robbery or burglary...),
a murder intended to obstruct or interfere with the course of justice,
a murder involving sexual or sadistic conduct,
the murder of two or more persons,
a murder that is racially or religiously aggravated or aggravated by sexual orientation, or
15 year minimum - applies to any murder not covered by another category
12 year minimum - applies to any murder committed by someone under the age of 18 (EDITED)
These are guidelines, but Judges must justify deviating from them.
Remember, these are minimum terms, all murders get a life sentence. It doesn't mean people will be released after the minimum term. As I said above, most murders in the UK did not intend to kill someone, that is not necessary for conviction here, only intent to cause GBH.
I'm very happy with UK sentencing. Good balance between punishment and public protection. The homicide rate in the UK is very low!

But really, I'm embarrased for Apple & Samsung for these pathetic lawsuits they keep bringing against each other. Money, money, money!
Why? The law requires an rights owner to defend its IP or risk losing it. These suits are just business, no hard feelings, as seen by Apple's monster-sized component contract w/ Samsung. Any yes, business is about making money.
