I have a site already but am changing the way the shopping cart is set up. The trouble is I need MySQL and my host does not support it. I have been told I can run MySQL on a local machine and somehow point the new php cart to it. My question is how do I do this? I need very basic step by step information on how to do this. Presently, I have downloaded MySQL and installed it.
you should get web hosting the offers both. hosting it on a local machine is sorta of pointless unless you have a static ip address and you know how to configure a router with point forwarding etc. also, web hosting places will be in a data center with fiber connection to the internet from multiple services which means your bottleneck of bandwidth won't be your home broadband connection. they are also kind enough to backup your data, and probably have fire protection in the data center.

$130 like they've always priced OS's
But wasn't Snow Leopard $40 or something for a single user and $80 for a family pack?

Thanks for confirming my my suspicions.
I've downloaded all of my updates to Xcode 3 from ADC as a full download, and have no intention of moving to Xcode 4 until Lion. I really wonder why it seems hit or miss via SU.

I have an older iMac (just before the intel chip) that I bought what must've been 5 years ago I guess along with an mbox2 and Pro Tools LE 6. I also have a small board that has 6 inputs I believe so I could use more than the 2 xlr inputs provided by the mbox2. I also have a keyboard that I was running in. Basically I bought this setup to record my sax playing, my wifes singing and my midi keyboard. I had it up and running one time and it seemed like could never get it going again. Now we are getting ready to purchase a 27" iMac i5 that we will use GB on for the time being but I really want to use the older iMac to use PT eventually since it was a really good setup at the time (not sure if it's still so today). Is there any good material that I can read up on that will assist with properly setting up the board to the mbox2 to the iMac as well as something that will help with understanding how to run that confounded application? I actually interned in a studio during a semester while in University (don't ask how that train got off the tracks) but they used an old 2" MCI (this was in the early 90s) so I don't understand the digital stuff so well but I think I have a pretty good knack for learning as long as I can see progress along the way.
Sorry for the long post. I appreciate your responses.

I'm only thinking it still might be enough to stop google from using android if oracle is victorious
Oracle cannot stop Google from using/distributing Android. At most, they can tack on patent licensing costs. Push comes to shove, Android can move away from the patented technologies, and only damages would have to be paid out to Oracle.
But those licensing costs/damages just got a severe cut here. Of course, everyone who actually took a look at how Dalvik works vs the Oracle patents aren't too afraid at this point. This isn't about Android (the patent claims), only the Dalvik VM remember.

Most likely but I'm sure not all options will require MySQL. However, setting up an e-commerce site can be a tad tricky, not to mention expensive. If you're not handling large orders, you might be best off with having an order form on your site and handling payments via paypal. Just a thought.

iOS 4.3.3 is better than 4.3.2 for me in regards to battery life. I've even re-JB my iP4, and the battery life has remained pretty decent so far...
Thanks for the report. I've been having amazing battery life after upgrading from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 and setting up as a new phone. Since I'm jailbroken and very happy with it, though, I suppose I'll keep with this and continue seeing how others are reporting iOS 4.3.3 battery performance.

Nice. How does that compare with your results in 10.6? Could you post your results in 10.6 as well?

ping 176ms
down 13.38 Mbps
up 3.97 Mbps
As tested from the iPad. As I mentioned I've had the same problem on different networks (in different cities)
I have had the iPad for two weeks and have always experienced the problem.
On current network, Netflix streams without issue on Mac mini, windows 7 laptop, blu-ray player.

All i can come up with is spammy software. I currently use Phoneview to transfer files however it's pretty buggy software, crashes a lot and i get a lot of permission errors. I think there's an upgrade but i'm leaning away from paying upgrade and finding something new.
What's everyone else in hacks using?:)
ninja edit: just stumbled upon iPhone explore (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/)r, users saying it's buggy and not as good as phoneview however i'll give it a spin.
