I think this is great news~ I mean, really a few things would happen:
Zune sucks, doesn't do well (good for Apple)
Zune is well designed, but Apple makes an even better iPod (good for us)
Zune is really really well-designed, better than the iPod. (good for me, I'll get a Zune over an iPod)

By that same vein, what has Apple ever developed that's anything close to a OS ? And no, Mac OS X, a bunch of components bought/taken from the open source community doesn't count... it's just a Unix distribution with a GUI layer on top. :rolleyes:
It's easy to discount anything going with that mentality. The fact is, Chrome OS is as much an undertaking as OS X was. It's more than just a "Web browser" since web browsers cannot be booted and don't provide graphical sub-systems, input management and process scheduling obviously.

It's easy to discount anything going with that mentality. The fact is, Chrome OS is as much an undertaking as OS X was. It's more than just a "Web browser" since web browsers cannot be booted and don't provide graphical sub-systems, input management and process scheduling obviously.

yes I agree the hands in both those pictures look extremely similar.
I am going to have to side with Samsung on this; apple stole their hand.
As far as the phones go? the looks are similar but still different looking.

Grab yourself a copy of xdelta (http://xdelta.org/) and do your fancy small update package yourself. There's even no need to look at Google, this was common practice on Gentoo GNU/Linux years ago (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=318671). I remember running a satellite server myself. However, that were ISDN/Analog/DSL 765k days, who on 16MBit cares whether the updates are 30 or 300MB anymore, as long as Apple hosts the files?

Yes, BootCamp uses the hardware natively, so that means dual-core support. As to whether you should use bootcamp or Parallels... Well I guess that ultimatly depends on what you need windows for... 3D games or REALLY CPU untensive App? Go for bootcamp. Otherwise, parallels does the trick nicely and doesn't require you to reboot (a BIG bonus for me...)

My brain is still trying to fathom using such an interface on an ipod.

Yep, yep, I figured that bit out. I was looking for the flexible page/quadrant stuff - to print in "booklet" form, for example. It aint in Word for Mac.
My recollection is that Word for Windows doesn't have it either. I have no way to verify that right now, though, since I don't have a Windows computer here on the premises.
If you're willing to suck it up and go to a copy shop, though, then it's a moot point; you can just design it as a normal document and have them bind it on double-sized paper. (Example: they can fold 11" x 17" sheets into a 8.5" x 11" booklet.)

Hi,
It doesn't look as if Spaces can work this way - but if you have multiple
screens then it would be nice to assign one or more spaces to that screen.
Is that how it works?
Or does it treat the other screens as an extension of the current Space?

It's about time. But I've had a wireless mouse/keyboard set when I got my iMac G5 Rev. A back in the day, and I quickly got rid of it. I was sick and tired of changing the damn batteries every few weeks. I never mouse or type away from my desk, so I had no use for it, and I'd rather have the ugly wires than deal with the annoyance of buying/changing batteries often. Now, if they were rechargeable (in a dock, I don't want to have to take them out and put them in a seperate charger), I could see using them.
apple could use firewire cables (like the iPods) to recharge wireless keyboards and mice.

Vista's restrictions are just the basic evidence that MS is drowning. Such limitations seem to be an ongoing strategy to guard some revenues in an otherwise extremely bad environment/market scenario for the company.
Currently, MS has only 2 "cash cows":
1 - MS Office, under onslaught by free solutions such as OpenOffice, or web-based suites such as Google's.
2 - MS Windows, which suffers from rampant piracy in developed AND developing markets.
The rest is just a bunch of loss-making ventures, including the XBox and the Zune. Due to lousy management and lack of innovation, MS will be DEAD or just a niche player in less than 10 years.

I really think AT&T cannot make it better.
MMS is not looking that good either. I know many that still cannot use it.
Dropped calls all the time. The alien voice syndrom was always funny, but not anymore.
They are over their heads. Too much to handle.
The only thing that they can do is let apple out of the agreement so other carriers can take some of the load off their hands.
I will stay with AT&T since most everyone I know uses it, but it would be nice to let everyone that came to AT&T to be able to go back to the carrier of their choice.
I also think AT&T should lower the monthly charges. They were suppose to use the extra to upgrade. That didnt happen. Now they are scrambling.

Oh yeah definitely I love the thought of controlling my computer by poking the screen, yeah I just love the fingerprints on the glass of my screen so much and the mouse is so CLUNKY, all it's good for is stuff like doing work and getting stuff done.

I also think the trackpad is better than the mouse.

The date makes sense since it coincides with the 3rd of the month, which is also a prime number.
For now the ios has the code name: ios5 as insiders confirm.
Apple is close lipped as usual, but we hear 3 engineers who were asked: "What's new?" gave each other
high 5's in public and were thus arrested for releasing company secrets.
Verizon will have this ios too and it comes in white
