Definitely the 2011 model. It is much faster than the 2010 model, especially when it comes to the 13". There is no dedicated video card, but if you want to play games you should go with a 15" anyway. Also, you get the Thunderbolt port.

The hard drive is unplugged (booting from the floppy) and all its been doing for the last 6 years is display the time.
Can my clock's fan be unplugged safely? Its not loud, but the white noise ruins the silence when I'm trying to read a book.

That video? I don't think thats an iPod, just one of those (IMO) ugly throwback LCD watches.

Hopefully the other 2011 models will soon follow. I had a suspicion it would be soon since the MBP no longer have the "new" icon when you enter the store.
Edit: Obviously the Title should say MBP instead of MPB
Second Edit: Guess I was a bit late to the party http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1140219&highlight=2011+refurbished

Seems strange because the requests are sent to the iMac (under it's own IP) then recieved and sent back to the powerbook.
Try setting up the subnets with the same IP if it is the ISP shutting down because of more than 1 IP.
Good luck...

I think the SSD makes most sense. Despite photoshop wanting to run scratch on a separate disc, most laptop users never do this so I imagine Photoshop is still coded to work well with the same scratch as the program. And in your case, even a slightly overworked SSD will outperform the 7200, especially if you're pulling over huge files.

i miss the days when c|net used to cover it live on cable. much better to watch it on TV than in front of a 1st generation broadband connection with dropouts, etc.
there's always the QT stream a few hours later tho

There's a thread where we can post our iOS devices, but we can't forget about our good old style ipods, with click wheels (and ipod touchs too). And i know that there's some pretty awesome ipod collections!
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2905/img015kp.jpg
Both my precious iPods, a 2gb 2nd Gen Nano and a 8gb 2nd Gen Touch.
Both of them are complete and working, i pre-orded the nano so its almost 5 years old, and i used it daily until i got the Touch on December so now its battery isn't exactly new but it still plays for 5-6 hours.
Once my nano got out of my pocket and stayed on the outdoor tables of my school during a rainy night, on the next day once i got to school very early and went to here i thought it would be, its was SO WET inside its case, i dried it with a hairdryer and plugged it into my computer and BAM, charging icon. Never had a problem with it since and this was a long time ago.
Sorry about the pic quality but i took it when i bought the iPod Touch and i didn't had a decent camera back then and right now i don't have my nano here. But once i can, i'll take a decent pic of them!

As Applespider said you'll just need a 3-pin plug adaptor.

Hi,
Here is the problem:
I received my Powermac Quad today. The shop already installed 4 gb extra memory. (4x 1gb DDR2 Kingston).
When I started the computer for the first time, it went through al the setup screen, but the system "hang" on the last screen where I entered my personal information. After restarting the system, OSX came up.
I checked the system info and saw that the system only had 4 gb installed. The first slot of up and down where both empty. I checked inside, and saw that there ARE indeed the standard memory sims in there. ( 2 x 512 mb). They are not recognized by the system though.
There are 3 sims in the upper slots and 3 sims down, like it it is supposed to be ?!
Does anyone know what is going on here?
Kind Regards, Jochem

Hello all,
Lately my G5 1.8 dual has been freezing on first boot and i'm not sure why.
If i hold the power button to shut it down, then reboot it, it works great until i shut it down again. Then it freezes on first boot again. It's been doing this for awhile and i think it could be software issues, but im not sure,
what do you think?

It would be nice if Apple made something similar, dig a little deeper into the corporate computer room.
Maybe one day apple will look closer at the server market, but it doesn't look like anytime soon

My concern is that I will lose all the things I downloaded on Cydia already if I update. Any thoughts?
You can use aptbackup or pkgbackup to backup(as in which cydia apps you had) and restore the apps you had.
