If you can take a close up pic of the logic board near the SCSI IC and (more importantly) the circuit board of the hard drive, I may be able to provide some guidance.
SCSI termination is an odd thing and unless you're dealing with an original drive that hasn't been in an external case or had it's termination altered, there are some pitfalls.
The model of the drive would also be handy.
You may have a faulty drive or even a stiction fault (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiction#Hard_disk_drives).

Hi flinko,
please try to lower the TVs resolution when it ISN'T plugged in the Mini (start the TV without being hooked-up to the Mini, find the 'Settings' for the TV res. & see if you can set it lower so your Mini can communicate with it & then you can adjust the res. from the Mini later on).

Just out out of curiosity, can't you queue the files?
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mac/transmit-ftp-client-for-mac-os-x-gets-updated-to-version-4/530
Downloading ten files at 150KB/s is as fast as downloading one file after another at 1.5MB/s.
With Transmit 4 i download each file at around 1.5mbs, while using filezilla i get 300k on each file netting 3mbs. I can queue the the files but it just takes longer.

You can probably get that to work, but you can't us Boot Camp Assistant to get you started. You will have to create a FAT32 partition in Disk Utility and then use that as a target for your Windows install.
Which versions of Windows are supported on your Mac will depend on which Mac it is so you may want to tell us.
The main difference between doing it this way and Boot Camp Assistant, is that BCA sets the default boot to the Windows partition, you will need to hold Alt/Option every time you boot when the Windows installer wants a reboot.

I'd like to get a mac mini server to use as a DVR etc. and then put regular mac mini's in each room in the house. I would also use my airport extreme which I already have.
The goal would be to have everything stored on either the server or the airport, and allow me to push any recorded program to any mac mini in the house for viewing. Is this possible with just the purchase of the mini server and a few minis (With my already purchased airport), or would I need other hardware to make it work too?

Can't say I'm a big fan of this feature. Theoretically it could be useful in PRSI when somebody tries to deny that they ever said something, but beyond that...
Do I really want every instance where I corrected a misspelling, replaced an adjective with a better one, or moved a few words around, on record?
Even in PRSI I don't really see the point. People there have fast eyes and long memories, so it really isn't likely you can get away with deleting your words and then denying you ever said them, unless you really did it immediately. And that, I think, can be forgiven. We've all written something a little rash and then immediately changed or deleted it.

Hi fellow forumers.
I am going to San Francisco in a few days and will be staying there for 4 months(work/travel). So I would like to ask you guys and gals: What to visit, where to shop, where to club, where to eat? Is it an expensive city? Any kind of tip you can give me.
Thanks for the advice.

Do you think that there is a problem with the screen on your MBP or do you think it is the screen in general, ie, do you think yours might be defective?
I don't see any indication of defects. I think the screen is working fine, to the best of my knowledge. It's especially blurry when I switch from my desktop to my Pro (say, I want to still be on my computer on the couch or outside of my room); this is when it's the most difficult to use. My eyes strain and it never fully adjusts to the low resolution of the laptop.
And in general use, my eyes do strain using my Pro almost every time. I recently renewed my prescription lens after an updated eye test, so I know my glasses aren't the culprit.
There is so much I enjoy about my Pro... but the one caveat is the low resolution. It renders it virtually unusable, at least not without a lot of discomfort.
I am slightly at a lost as to what to do about this...

I was using this with my minidisk recorder and it worked great -- very nice sound -- and will be useful if you ever want to flip open garageband for a quick jaunt through lounge-mic lane -- it's battery powered so you don't need a pre-amp, very portable, and more or less cool looking.

Just what the title says. I just ordered the clear iPhone 4 back from iFixit and in the article it says it looks better without the EMI shield, and I agree, but they don't recommend it. What are the possible problems it could cause by removing it, or are they just being over cautious?

Contemplating the same. Subscribed. Plz post pics of safe shield removal and comment on fit/finish/ease of install. Thanks.

You can't.
Bummer, I found a far less elegant work around that sadly involved booting into Windows 7. Usually OS X is the tool for the job, but I was having Flash issues with my webcam in Safari, Firefox and Chrome, but it worked fine in Firefox in Windows 7.

i have a similar issue, but i thought it was the Quadro 4000's fan. i might be wrong, it could be the Mac Pro fans. but anyhow, yes, i hear the fans all day long. not sure what causes this. i do know that the Quadro 4000 runs very hot.

I have an iphone 4 that ive had since june and never updated past 4.0.1.
I tried to do a reset on the phone and it just got stuck in a boot loop.
I have it in DFU mode now and i have the 4.0.1 ipsw file, but i cant restore it through the latest version of itunes or itunes 9.1.
How can I do this?
Thanks
without SHSH blobs save, you can't restore to 4.0.1. Apple is currently signing 4.3.2 and you can only restore to this firmware only if you don't have SHSH blob save.
