Image from camera or from a file?
Do you want to get an the raw RGB bitmap values, and apply some 2D mathematical filtering functions using the Accelerate framework and/or your own DSP code, or try doing something with the GPU?
Do you want to work in the RGB, YUV or HSV (or some other) color space?

Great quality too. The quality of their HD downloads are impressive. Since they're owned by Wal-Mart, maybe they'll push the rental pricing down lower across the board.
By the way, good for Sony for offering a direct competitor to their built-in PSN video offerings on their own hardware. Of course, they get paid either way. I'm sure that makes a difference too.

I used to put my sisters iPod on manually manage and she could get all the music from my computer and her computer on her own iPod. This was with a touch, once she tried to add to more than five computers then it said he couldn't add more. This was probably two years ago but it may have changed then. I knew of a program like a really long time ago that would let you take music from an iPod and transfer it into iTunes, I can't remember the name of it but my friend had it with one of the early models.

Hello,
With so little info, here's my tip:
-More ram is only (significantly) useful if you max out the RAM you have.
-WD hard drives have a very good record. I have 5 2TB greens, and 1 3TB green: love them all, they are perfect for storage. Go for the blacks if you're going to boot or work off them.

So I have a bit of a problem, and I'm on a semi-tight deadline to solve it (7:30pm CST), so I did the best thing I knew how: Turn to my fellow MacRumors Members for advice!
I'm broadcasting an event on LiveStream this evening and I have run into a bit of a hiccup. My internet connection for the event is a University network, and it would appear that they have some outgoing ports that I need open blocked. The LiveStream Procaster application has the following in its support documentation:
Most Routers and/or Firewalls should automatically configure themselves and allow you to connect with our various supported encoders. However, if you find yourself restricted for any reason, we recommend ensuring the following ports be opened: 80 and 1935 Outgoing.
I do not have access to the router/firewall settings for this University network (obviously), and cannot open those ports. The application does not give me the option to use another port (like 8080, which is obviously open).
My question is if there is a way within OS X to redirect all of my outgoing traffic intended for ports 80 and 1935 to ports that I know to be open.
Any help would be super appreciated!

I have to use the Lumix DMC-FX75 for a work web project. I stupidly selected the AVCHD option instead of MJPEG thinking 'Ooh fancy HD feature' before realizing it's a nightmare on my imac (just bought maybe 6 months ago)
I'm not so well versed in video editing as it is and have tried to upload the video files on a mac & pc with no luck. From reading some threads here I've found that it can be done through imovie 09.
How can I upload the video files from the memory card into imovie so I can edit the footage? (where are they? What is their file extension?)
I'm a total novice so I would appreciate the help desperately!

Hi, I know this is not the place for this, but ive tried every other computer site on the net, this is the only one left.
Ok, ok. I own a windows computer. I bought a imac G3 to replace it. as soon as i get the mac working, i notice my PC is acting a little crazy. So i turn it off and on again. Normaly, the fan spins for about 15 seconeds, and then it boots. This time, the fan STAYS on and there is no video wahtsoever. It's been 3 days, and Im desprate to get all my music off of it and onto my mac, but nothing's working.
Like I said, this is the wrong place. but i was hoping one of u guys used a windows comp once or twice

Guys, MBP is a week old and the battery health is 97%. Its a week old. Had 8 battery load cycles. Design capacity is 6900mAh and I'm at 6723mAh.
Normal or am I just being a freak?
And I've tried to calibrate like 3 times. Can you over calibrate? What am I to do? Rumour geniuses please inform. lol.

Hey all,
I've recently started shooting a lot of DSLR photos and videos, and want to upgrade to a machine that can handle RAW images and H.264 videos faster than my mini. I just sold my trusty Mac mini 2.0 C2D, which was my workhorse photo and video editing/encoding machine, as it was getting a little long-in-the-tooth.
Essentially, I want a machine that will let me move from iPhoto to Aperture, and iMovie to Final Cut Express. Not pro-level software, but prosumer. I do no absolutely no gaming (hence base model MBP), but do rip/encode videos for my iPad using Handbrake, as I travel frequently. This machine is probably going to be stationary positioned at my desk, as I have a PC for work/school (I ::hate:: Mac Excel), so portability is a "nice-to-have" but will likely not be transported ever.
I've narrowed my choices down to:
- MacBook Pro 15" 2.0GHz i7/8GB RAM/ HD Anti-glare screen/SSD + HDD (using Optibay)
- iMac 27" 3.1GHz i5/8GB RAM/HDD only
The pros of the MacBook Pro seem to be:
- Easy ability to upgrade and use SSD as scratch and HDD as main storage
- Hyperthreading on the i7, which seems to come in handy as the three programs I'll be using the most are optimized for it (Aperture, Final Cut Express, Handbrake)
The pros of the iMac seem to be:
- Beautiful 27" screen
- Faster clock speed (but at the cost of hyperthreading)
What should I choose?

I'm new to the JB world and so far I'm loving it on my iPhone for MiWi tethering, LockInfo, and themes.
However, I cannot think of a reason to JB my iPad as well besides themes. I figured I'd ask you pros your JB functions you use daily for your iPad.
Thanks ahead of time :)

Customization, using my iPad as a forensic research tool, the SNES app where my iPad is the SNES and my iPhone is the controller is pretty bad ass. :)

Depends if it's a server side dependancy, that you be running a version after a specific build (which could be after PPC support was removed).

My immediate gut-instinct would be to create a singleton class at the Application level with class methods for using and accessing its features.
Since it's a singleton class I would try to implement lazy loading. It would only load the data upon first call or after having dumped the data due to a memory warning.

Hi all
If you've removed the ItunesHelper from the Login Items section (System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items ... , How can you put it back?
I know where it is by browsing to it in Finder Applications >>>Itunes >Show Package Contents >> Resources . ITunesHelper ... but you can't drag and drop, and you can only select the application itself from the login window.
