Thanks. Making the 'pickerview' variable not local to the function worked.
I'm now curious about the 'tag' instance property. How is it used?
I tried googling and read it in the document. I haven't seen an application of it.

+1 safari barely consumes any space and for your benefit look into cleanmymac it will help you remove only junk so you dont go deleting programs you may need down the road.

first try the stuff on apple's website
Are you restoring to a custom firmware? (to savebaseband)
You can always try another computer. If your restoring to a custom firmware try dfu mode and if that dosent work pwned dfu mode.
IF NO
just restore to stock firmware by pressing update button in itunes(latest is 4.3.2)

They're downloading only the actual number of bytes (900 bytes)
The 4 K is an artifact of the hard disk formatting system, it's a 900 byte file in a 4096 byte pigeon-hole.
So 900 bytes will be transmitted, and what it occupies on the destination machine depends on the block size of that particular machine.
good answer!

Hello all!
So here is my dilemma, I'm connecting an iPad to a mac mini via an app called Screens which uses VNC. When a computer is connected via VNC it doesn't want to go to sleep or activate screensaver. Well I need that to happen. I found a workaround in an app called PowerManager, which has a function that states "run script after ___ amount of inactivity, and it works and starts the screensaver even while connected to VNC! but it is $50 and I have to put it on multiple machines. I only need this one function, so I was hoping to write an applescript that basically does the following,
after 8min of inactivity run screensaver.app
and that script obviously has to be running continuously.
So yeah, any help would be much appreciated, I haven't done too much scripting but I can follow instructions.
Thank you!

you're restoring to an earlier OS, thus the issue you are describing. Go spend $30 for 10.6 at an apple store, upgrade to the latest OS revision (currently 10.6.7) and then do the time machine restore. You will again get a kernel panic if you keep using the original macbook restore DVD (it will either have tiger or leopard on it, neither will work if you previously had SL)
on the other hand, if you have an enclosure for your old hard drive (the smaller 120GB one) you could simply do a clone to the larger one using carbon copy cloner.

By "iPhoto file," do you mean "iPhoto Library"? The iPhoto Library is not a file. It is a bundle, a non-executable version of a MacOS X application bundle. A bundle is a special kind of folder that appears to the user as a file, but it is not a file. It contains all of your iPhoto photographs in individual files.
My suggestion to you is to export the photographs that you want to edit one-by-one. You can't edit all of your photographs at once, so why export them all at once? There is a way to get at your the photographs in your iPhoto Library via the Finder. However, it would be irresponsible for you to do that until you learn how to use Photoshop and learn a lot more about how your system works.

I also have Server running on a Mini. The disks that ship with the Apple machines (usually have a dark grey color scheme) are CUSTOM to the machine they ship with and usually (in my experience, always) do NOT install on anything other than that precise configuration. I learned the hard way trying to configure RAID on the two included 2.5" hard drives. If you have a RETAIL version of the server operating system (a disc with a picture of the Snow Leopard on it), then you should have no problem installing assuming there are no Intel/G5 issues. Also, the Xserve itself should have come with install discs that were "native" to it, so that would be aother choice you could explore.

There's a crap load of iOS games which support online multiplayer now. Carcassonne, Flight Control, Dungeon Defenders, Disc Drivin, Reckless racing, Depict, Even Fruit Ninja and doodle jump have online MP now. And this list is endless. If you are into board games, there are dozens of Reiner knizia games with online MP.
The ones I've spent a lot of time playing are Disc Drivin (Even 'THE' Arnold Kim loves this game, what else could you ask for eh?) and Carcassonne (a lil expensive but worth every penny).
My disc drivin id is IMNS. Feel free to add me.

Hi there,
I recently reinstalled my Mac, but I forgot to backup and now I need a very important file that I deleted because I ereased the whole disk. Is there a way to get it back? I have no Time Machine backup, but it's really important.
If it is important you can get it off a backup. If there is no backup, it's not important. If your having trouble with your backup maybe we can help you.

Hey Arn is there anyway to contribute directly to MR w/o a credit card? I'd love to send some money to help but I'm held back by this. I would understand if not
I was also wondering if you are ever going to bring out some MacRumors t-shirts?

Too bad for Apple fans and Wi Gear.
It would be nice to see some solid Bluetooth headphones and headsets in the Apple line-up.
I wonder if Wi Gear will see a sales bump due to the publicity?

I made an application on urbanairship. Application mode is production. Then i went to provisioning portal at developer.apple.com. In App id section, i went to my app id and downlaoded the production push push Ssl certificate. Export it and made an .p12 file and uploaded it on urbanairship application. Then in xcode, i opened my app and in AppDelegate.m after imports i wrote my urban airship application id and application master secret like this:
#define kApplicationKey @"Applicaton id"
#define kApplicationSecret @"Application Master Secret"
Then in AppDelegate.m i have this code for registering device for push notificatons:
- (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)applicationdidFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions {
[self.window addSubview:navigationController.view];
#define kApplicationKey @"Applicaton id"
#define kApplicationSecret @"Application Master Secret"
