Are you sure it wont go into DFU mode? Unless you unlocked and messed with the baseland, I doubt its bricked.
no not unlocked its sim free factory.
pretty sure it wont. tried loads of times. cant even get it to switch off. i vaguely remember a program that would force ios into dfu from mac or am i making things up.

I sill have a G3 B&W 400 and it has one of the first models of Firewire, with the first chipset. This chipset didn't recognize every other Firewire equipment with a specific, commonly used chipset. And I believe it was an Oxford chipset that it didn't recognized... You can find more information in the Apple support pages, also look there for a Firewire firmware update, If you can upgrade it, it could fix your problem. Goodluck!

If I buy a factory unlocked iPhone 4 from Canada will it work when I update it on iTunes in USA. A tec told me it would lock up if I sync it and update it on iTunes. I thought if it's factory unlocked it is forever? They said iTunes in USA is a different system and will lock the phone. I now have Cydia and use T-mobile.

Hi,
I read that it was 1.5GB RAM but then I read on the apple support discussions that you could use 2GB?
Cheers.

Do you have the link to the download? Maybe if you posted a link to the download on your site, or hosted the download on your site, people could play around with it to adjust settings to see if we can work together and get it to work.
Also, I haven't forgotten about you! I will be looking at the specs of that 5300 today and get back to you in my other thread. I went outta town for awhile.

Anyone else psyched about the Thunderbolt port (http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt/) in the new MBPs for their Aperture/Lightroom library external drives?
All this time I've pined for the mythical xMac so I could have access to an eSATA port without shelling out for a Mac Pro. I've even considered getting the big-arsed 17" MBP with the Express/34 slot and a matching eSATA card. Last month I almost ordered a 27" iMac just so I could send it off to OWC to have them do their eSATA port surgery (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/turnkey/iMac_2010_27).
With the new Thunderbolt port, I can now keep the portability of a smaller MBP but still get much-faster-than-FireWire-800 drives to host my Aperture and Lightroom libraries. (I'll still need FireWire for my recording audio interfaces, at least until Apogee or MOTU make Thunderbolt-compatible audio interfaces.)
Now, if LaCie (http://www.lacie.com/us/technologies/technology.htm?id=10039) or Promise (http://www.promise.com/storage/raid_series.aspx?from=search®ion=en-US&m=151&rsn1=40&rsn3=47) or whoever would just get around to shipping an actual Thunderbolt drive array...

I don't believe it is possible to do that manually. However, the way to do this is basically just to post tech things on that site. After google indexes the words on the page itself it readjusts your ads to be based on what the page is.( takes some time depneding on how frequently u get indexed) So you ad will turn into tech ads if u have tech information on that page.

I recently had a HDD failure on my iMac and decided to try and do a clean install and use Migration Assistant to migrate over my user data (wouldn't recommend this; there's just not enough fine grained control in MA to make it worthwhile). Anyway, I'm missing an item on my finder toolbar and was wondering if anyone has any hints as to what it may have been. While I can't remember what it was, it may have been useful from time to time. The only hint I have to what it is, is in the com.apple.finder.plist. The item-id is 'flxs'. If anyone can point me to what these item-ids reference I can probably pull some info out of my Time Machine backup.

Update: Redsn0w is recognizing the ipsw, I didn't have the latest version of redsn0w, now I do and that problem is solved, however my phone still isn't going into DFU mode, and I'm still on 4.2.1

Something I've always wondered about these flexible screens is while they're really neat looking, all the rest of a phone's components are not flexible, so the fact that the screen is flexible is kind of redundant, no?

I think the problem is that EXR isn't really "image" data, much like how RAW data really isn't "image" data either. Aperture has the ability to render RAW data into an image, but with EXR you'd have to tone map it into an image to get it something displayable.
If you can open the EXR in photoshop, you should be able to change it into like a TIFF or a PSD, which Aperture should be able to read. But, I'm pretty sure that in doing so you'd have to tone map it first- and then "baking in" that tone map into an image file.
Basically I don't think it's possible to do what you're really looking for- which is the ability to natively tone map HDR-format files in Aperture.
