wow Matt, you must live in a special area of Minneapolis, because my experience with AT&T coverage in Minny is terrible! I was over in St. Louis Park just yesterday and my wife and I both had NO SERVICE until we got into Edina, and when my wife was in downtown at her patent lawyers office (IDC) she had 1 bar on Edge, and could not stay connected for more than 30 seconds before dropping the call. Thankfully in Prior Lake, I have decent coverage.
That's odd because I get great service in St. Louis Park (I'm in that area a lot) and I live and work downtown and get great service both indoors and out. I very rarely go below 5 bars anywhere I am in the metro area - I only experience diminished service along I-35 heading north to Duluth. My roommate has an iPhone as well and has the same experience I do. I've had AT&T now for about 3 years and have never had problems. I do agree that Sprint has great service as well in MN, I had them before the iPhone came out.

Ive just noticed, they've brought back the Firewire 800 on the 15" models now.

I don't know if you know how math works, but there are no discounts for not having a subsidy. You don't factor in the cost of service, that is not relevant. You will pay that regardless of the handset device. My regular iPhone would cost that.

For people buying an expensive smartphone getting the 3GS is a good deal. Notice how they sell more of them then any other smartphone besides the iPhone 4, even when Android handset makers give away their product.

I've read the post over again and if that was sarcasm, he's bad at it and should stop.

The 2 things that convinced me:

The article says it was wrong about Ipad 2 having a memory slot.

hope they won't repeat the stupid overheat, whine, or shutdown issues in this release.
other than that, it's an impressive update and upgrade, especially compared to the painful and slow powerbook updates. Apple sure didn't dissapoint me at all!

it won't make much of a difference in terms of performance gain, but I would preffer getting a 5400 rpm and having more capacity instead. it might be very helpful for a lot of people though, it's just that i'm cost consious.

Just got here to Brea an there's about 20 or so in line. Hopefully we can get some update on inventory levels. They didn't sell any yesterday but I don't know if that's because they didn't get any or chose to hold them for today.

Battery life is much better with this update. I stream Sirius radio all day and it lasts longer now. Haters gotta hate.

Today's shot is a place I bet many of you didn't know existed. It is a "tourist/post card" picture, but I wanted to use it anyway just to see how many recognize it.
Well, considering you have posted a few shots from Hop-town, I am about 99.999% sure where it is, but I'll play along and see if anyone else has a guess. I may just have a slightly unfair advantage, even though I have never been to this site specifically ;)
The Cherokee Memorial Park in Hopkinsville, KY, is where Chief Whitepath and Fly Smith, a clan leader, are buried. This site was one of the ration stops along the Trail of Tears.

This is a really powerful shot. Great composition. I think the only thing that could make it better would perhaps be a little fill flash on the statues. I've really been enjoying your work. Uh, that would be an iPhone 5. You do realise that 5 is the generation when people talk about iPhone. Apple has yet to name their next device, but whatever real name it will have, it will still be the 5th generation iPhone.
The one next year would be iPhone 6.
It's still only going to be an iPhone 4 at best like the 3GS was a bumped buy me again iPhone 3G! People are expecting loads of hardware bumps and a redesign like the iPhone 4 we won't see it!
It will be the iPhone 4 with an a5 chip and to be honest there is no speed difference to my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2, A4 is speedy still on such a small display!
What I'd like to see it major software updates to the boring grid of apps as the iPhone no matter how new outside the software seems as old as the hill! It's boring repetitive but practical and
works!

Maybe the iPhone 4 looking iPhone 5 will come out as a 4S and something like this will be the iPhone 5...? It does look pretty good, but not sure if it could really be made this thin as the A5 chip is just as power consuming as the A4 (as has been stated). If that actually is what the iPhone 5 will look like, I'll buy it for sure.

The only reason I found this interesting is the why. If the white phone is thicker, why is it thicker? Different camera vendor (since that's the thickest internal component)? Insulation on the antenna? Different battery? Thicker paint coating to prevent light leaks?
I couldn't care less about the fact that it might be thicker, only the reason. Alas, I don't think it is. Maybe only enough for the paint explanation.

That is sick. I want one so bad but my folks are being difficult. I am allowed to have one I just cant park it anywhere on their property and seeing as I still live in their house that makes it tough to own one.

Ok, so AT&T definitely drops calls; that's a given it seems...but for current customers is the dropped calls enough of a pain to leave AT&T/iPhone and go to another carrier??
