People were curious on how they relock your device. How is this possible? Isn't once it is unlocked it's unlocked? I guess apple does it differently than other phones like I suspected.

...but you must say the photo is awesome! Better than staring at a Mac screen, lol. Well, almost as good.

Is that right? I've just got a replacement and it's saying a capacity of 12.1GB? I know on previous ones it's said ~14GB?
Hmm, check if anything is installed or if you accidentally synced it. You are correct, it should have about 14GB free.

Do you have the camera connection kit or do you plan to get it? The connection kit only really fully works with the non 4.0 versions...
Nope, don't use it and don't really see a need for it. I think I'm just gonna go up to 4.3. There's nothing I desperately need with the jb, I just love being able to quickly kill all my apps and some of my themes... but that stuff will come in due time.
Thanks for all the help! :)

I want to be able to see the size (in Bytes) of the 8 photos I selected. Right now, Finder tells me that I have selected 8 files, but also tells me the total HD space remaining rather than the size of the 8 files.
Inspector window? (Command-Option-I)

The whole resolution independance thing terrifies me. I just know we'll see some vendor or Apple have these annoying huge UI's that we can't shrink back down to their proper size. I mean the reason we buy this huge monitors is to shrink the UI and maximize free space right???
Yes, good designers and programers are sometimes hard to find.

Well there is a video in the other Leopard screenshot thread that shows finder but it has a unified skin. But we are pretty sure its from Leopard cause it shows an integrated feature that is obviously new. It should still be on like page 5...
But yea, so these features are great, resolution independence is awesome as usual and these little minor things add up. MWSF is going to be awesome.

Panther needs a FireWire 400 supported Mac. That is pretty much the requirement for it, if you have that it will install. If you are having problems it could be your Optical Drive or the Install CD. :)

With the MaxConnect BackPlane Attachment for Mac Pro [2010] Systems (SZ-MACPRO10-MS06) I can't make it out too well from the picture but it appears there's a small adapter attached onto the back of the hard drive ports correct?

Just wondering if anyone can help with a recommendation for a scanner. I want to scan in my old lecture notes I have from university. They've been gathering dust under my bed and generally taking up space for years. It would be handy if I could transfer these notes to my Mac.
I'm looking for a scanner that comes in at under 200 (willing to go slightly higher if needed, although lower would be preferred). I'm unlikely to ever scan in any photos, umm ever! So my need is for this scanner to be always used to scan in documents that are txt based.
Thanks for reading and hope someone can help
Jason
P.s I have a 12 Rev A Al book, so no usb2. But I should be upgrading in the near future. Not sure if this is relevant

Who here saw "Commander in Chief"? I thought it was incredibly well written, Geena Davis did an amazing job, as did Donald Sutherland. I think if they continue on the path they were on tonight, addressing the types of issues a female president would encounter, rather than skirting them, it could be a very compelling drama.
Any thoughts?

No one needs that much money. Assuming his wealth is around 40 billion, that's more than anyone could ever spend or needs. I say tax it all, and leave him with a few hundred million. That's still an insane amount of money. That way, he'd be paying his fair share of taxes, and would still have more money than he needs.

I think they may be holding off on the cinema displays until later this year when they update the MacPro to the new Nehalem processor. The new Mac Pros may even sport the new look we've all been speculating and the new displays will carry a built-in iSight.
Who knows what the reason is..

You've probably noticed some posts on, "my computer won't boot" or "I get a flashing ? mark"
Both of these can be due to file system/catalog errors on the HD -- basically the HD gets corrupted enough it won't boot, though people usually see the spinning ball quite frequently before this happens.
All fsck does is check the file system/catalog for errors and repair them, you can also run Disk Utility/Disk First Aid (but that requires a CD/DVD.)
fsck doesn't require a CD/DVD and is something that can be done in a couple minutes when you turn the machine on -- just boot into single user mode and follow the directions on the screen.
